What are Blueprints?
Maybe your not familiar with Blueprints and how you can benefit from them.
So you may be asking, what exactly are blueprints anyway? The technical answer would be a contact print of a drawing or other image rendered as white lines on a blue background, especially a print of an architectural plan or technical drawing. Also, a mechanical drawing produced by any of various similar photographic processes, such as one that creates blue or black lines on a white background.
Well, that's the boring Webster dictionary definition. Basically blueprints are technical drawings. At one point in time, and still today but with more advanced methods, "Blueprints" were in fact BLUE! The reality is now a blueprint does not have to be blue, but must be a technical drawing of whatever! Houses, gears, machinery, firearms, you name it.
Blueprints are technical with dimensions, are usually scaled, and give detail about the object being drawn. They are not instructional, meaning they lack the step by step directions to build the said item. They are measurements, dimensions. Building and fabrication knowledge is vital to be able to build from blueprints, and of course being able to read them, as symbols are often used.
There are tons of house blueprints out there. We here at DIYinnovation.com basically do not sell house blueprints. This is a flooded market, and the turn-key "supposed" custom home blueprints being sold are mostly cookie cutters anyway, BORING.... We will sell home blueprints on occasion, but these are not mainstream blueprints, these are not cookie cutter blueprints, they are focused more on the self reliant folks who want a simple affordable home in the woods, energy efficient, and earth friendly.
